Jerry Norman Neal

Mr. Jerry Norman Neal, age 65 of Toccoa, GA, died Thursday, March 14, 2013 surrounded by his loving family at the Vista Care Hospice in Atlanta, GA. Son of the late Martin and Elsie Ariail Neal formerly of Royston, GA he was born August 27, 1947 in Royston, GA where he lived his early years. Jerry was a graduate of Franklin County High School, attended the University of Georgia and graduated from John Marshall Law School in Atlanta, GA. Following his graduation, he and his family moved back to his hometown of Royston, where he established his law practice. He served as Deacon of the Royston United Methodist Church and various other committees within the church. Most recently Jerry was employed with C.D. Properties and Construction of Cornelia, GA. Jerry was a proud and loving father to his son, George Martin Neal of Lavonia, GA and his grandson, Dustin Andrew Neal. In addition he is survived by his sister, Marilyn Neal Slocumbe (Robert) of Elberton, GA, his step-daughter, Melissa Bowen Argo of Duluth, GA, several nieces and nephews and his special friend, Shirley Shook. Memorial Services will be 2 PM Saturday, March16, 2013 at The Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with the Reverend Kathleen Deegan-Neal officiating. The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Saturday from noon until the service hour. Online condolences may be made by visiting our website, www.acree-davisfh.com. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his memory to a charity on ones choice. Interment will be the Rose Hill Cemetery at a later date.
