Jesse Lee Guest

Mr. Jesse Lee Guest, 80, of Dewy Rose, Georgia passed away Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital. A native of Madison County, Mr. Guest was the son of the late Rassie and Alberta Guest.He was the husband of Linda Rowland Guest, with whom he had celebrated over 60 years of marriage.Mr. Guest was preceded in death by his daughter, Laura Ann Guest; two brothers, Andrew Guest and Thomas Guest; and infant grandsons, Cody Beggs and Tyler Beggs.He worked throughout his life as a stonecutter in the granite industry.When time allowed, he enjoyed fishing, as well as tending to his flowers and animals. Mr. Guest was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his wife, Linda, Mr. Guest is survived by a son, Greg Guest and wife, Kay; two daughters, Lisa Adams and husband, Mark, and Sandy Beggs and husband, Marshall; 10 grandchildren: Blake Adams (Kelli), Adrienne Kaufman (Matthew), Courtney Phillip (Andrew), Jason Beggs (Claire), Lucas Guest (Ashley), Brittany Adams, Lauren Guest, Zander Horne, Titus Horne, and Lillian Horne; and 5 great-grandsons: Waylon Phillip, Jesse Phillip, Declan Kaufman, Clyde Phillip, and Westin Guest. He also leaves behind a sister, Elizabeth Pierce, and a brother, Billy Guest. A service to celebrate Mr. Guest’s life was held on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Liberty Baptist Church, with Pastor Andy Buchanan officiating.Mr. Guest lay in state at the church from 2:00 p.m. until the service time.Interment followed in Hillcrest Cemetery in Bowman, with Tony Alford, Scott Fleming, David Hunt, Randy Peeples, Leroy Rowland, and Kendall Weaver serving as pallbearers. A time of visitation for family and friends was held on Tuesday, October 12th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Hicks Funeral Home, Elberton. Flowers were graciously accepted, and memorial contributions may be made to Liberty Baptist Church at P.O. Box 811, Hartwell, GA 30643. Arrangements for Mr. Jesse Guest were in the care of Hicks Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
