Jessie Angeline "Ann" Dudley Chavis

Mrs. Jessie Angeline “Ann” Dudley Chavis, 81, of Petersburg Road, Elberton, wife of 19 years to the late Joseph Edward “Ed” Chavis, passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at her residence. 

Ann was born in Madison County on July 29, 1943, daughter of the late Reuben Estee Dudley and Jessie Bell Ray Dudley. She was a member of Corinth Congregational Holiness Church and retired from Boaz Manufacturing. She loved cats and Elvis music, and above all, she loved the Lord. 

The last surviving member of her immediate family, she is preceded in death by her husband; parents; and siblings: Major Dudley, Aaron Dudley, Billy Ray Dudley, Irene Smith, and Polly Bowie. She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services celebrating Ann’s life will be conducted on Wednesday, August 21, at 11:00a.m. in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Rev. Chris Criswell officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Royston. Ann will lie in state for one hour prior to the service for those wishing to pay their respects.
