Jimmie Ray Sanders

Mrs. Jimmie Ray Rhodes Sanders, age 81, of Elberton, passed away August 13, 2009 at her home. Mrs. Sanders was born in Elbert County, GA the daughter of the late Joseph Lee Rhodes and Eva Audrey Mattox Rhodes.She was an avid gardener and she was a long-time member of Northside Baptist Church where she served as Church Secretary for over 50 years.She was preceded in death by her sister, Doris Sanders. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Marshal Sanders of Elberton; daughter, Elizabeth Ann (Frank) Dantism of Concord, NC; son, David Mark (Trish) Sanders of Birmingham, AL; grandchildren, Suzanne Dantism, Christopher Dantism, Matthew Dantism, Mary Sanders, Emily Sanders; sisters, Sara Frances Smith and Betty Jo Poole, both of Elberton; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Sunday, 3:00 PM at Northside Baptist Church with remains to lie in state at 2:00.Rev. David McConnell and Rev. Sonny Peevy officiating.Interment will follow at Concord UMC Cemetery.The family will receive friends Saturday evening 6-8 PM at the funeral home.In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Northside Baptist Church Building Fund 384 N.
