Jimmy Gaines Brown

Born in Hart County he was a son of the late Benson C. Brown, and Jewel Thornton Brown. He was a member of The First Presbyterian Church of Elberton, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War where he received the Bronze Star of Valor. Survivors include his wife of the home Joy McIntosh Brown, sons and daughters in law Kenneth A. & April Brown and Kevin B. and Candice Brown, brothers William L. Brown, Maxwell Brown, and Thornton Brown, a number of nieces and nephews, and 4 grandchildren Miranda Brown, Chandler Brown, Leyton Brown, and Lauren Brown. Funeral services will be held Tuesday August 18, at 3PM at The First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Mike Woods officiating. Burial will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8PM Monday night at Berry Funeral Home. Flowers are optional and memorials may be made in his honor to The First Presbyterian Church 154 South McIntosh Street Elberton, GA 30635.
