Mr. John James "Jimmy" Parham, 80, of Woodland Rd., Elberton passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital.
Mr. Parham was born September 21, 1936 in Dekalb County, GA to Hester Glenn Parham and Elizabeth Reid Ingram Parham. He was a member of Mill Shoals Baptist Church in Royston, a world known retired sandblast sculptor and a member of the Shriners and Philomathea Masonic Lodge #25 in Elberton. Jimmy was a talented musician and played the up right bass and harmonica.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years Jean Ginn Parham; daughters and son-in-law: Karen and Terry Brown; Sharon Bowers; grandchildren and their spouses: Kevin and Barbara Brown, Tyler and April Bowers, Kyle and Heather Bowers; great-grandchildren: Kaylee Saxon, Kaydence Bowers, Emily Bowers, Layne Brown, Allie Jean Brown and Jase Bowers.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son-in-law: Ted Bowers; brothers: Harry Parham and Joe Parham; and his only granddaughter Lori Denise Brown.
Funeral services to celebrate Jimmy's life will be held 2PM, Saturday, July 15 in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with Rev. Ann Reynolds officiating. The family is at the home on Woodland Rd. and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home after the funeral service Saturday.
The family has requested to omit flowers and make memorials in Jimmy's memory to the Shriner's Children Hospital, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607 or online at https://www.shrinershospitalsforchildren.org/donate.
