Joe Curtis Maxwell

Joe Curtis Maxwell, age 79, went to his heavenly home on January 21, 2021, after a year of declining health.

Born in China Grove, NC, he was preceded in death by parents Walter H. and Francis Moore Maxwell. He is reunited with wife, Gwendolyn Ray Maxwell, who finished her journey in January 2020. Joe was a former Granite Retailer in Camden SC, after leaving his role as a Quarry Foreman with North Carolina Quarries.

He is survived by his two children: Michael and Rita Maxwell of Bowman GA and Greg and Donna M. Webb of Dewy Rose, GA. Grandchildren are Leanda Vaughn, Micah Lovinggood, Amber Campbell, Steven Webb, and Nathan Webb and with seven great-grandchildren. Surviving siblings are: Barbara Maxwell, Gail Seymour, and Mark Maxwell, all of Bowman area, Sylvia Butler of Dewy Rose and Jan Oglesby of Elberton. He was preceded in death by his brother Vernon and infant twin brother Billy.

Families are at their respective home due to safety precautions. A family graveside service will be held on Sunday, January 24th, at Deep Creek Baptist Church, Dewy Rose, GA at 1:00, Rev. Tim Adams officiating.
