Joe Travis Kay

Joe Travis Kay, 85, of 213 Elizabeth Street, Elberton husband of Rachel Sanders Kay passed away Monday December 13, 2010. Born in Elbert County he was the son of the late Ed Kay and Ruby Cornell Kay. He was a member of Solid Rock, a retired stonecutter, a U.S. Army Paratrooper serving in WWII, and was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Survivors include his wife of the home Rachel Sanders Kay, a daughter and son-in-law Toni and Richard Grimes of Elberton, GA, sons Kenneth Kay of Saratoga Springs, NY, and David Kay of Sugar Hill, GA, three grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. A celebration of his life will be held Wednesday December 15, at 2PM Graveside at Forest Hills Memorial Park with Rev. Richard Grimes officiating. The family will be at the home and will receive friends from 6-8PM Tuesday night at Berry Funeral Home. Berry Funeral Home is respectfully in charge of the funeral arrangements for Mr. Joe Travis Kay.
