Joel Hubert Turner, 76, of 1251 Crestview Drive, Elberton, passed away on Monday, November 8, 2010, at Athens Regional Medical Center. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Sue C. Turner; son and daughter-in-law Frank and Melissa Turner of Braselton; son Chris Turner of Acworth; son and daughter-in-law David and Dee Dee Johnson of Lincolnton; daughter and son-in-law Leslie and Sam Ray of Flowery Branch; also survived by five grandchildren; Kaitlyn Turner, Franklin Turner, Jack Turner, Skyler Johnson and Albah Ray. He is also survived by brother Paul H. Turner. Mr. Turner is preceded in death by sisters Jimmie Stratton, Willene Fowler, Inez Craft, Ethel Wiles; brothers ClaudeA Turner, Clifford Lee Turner, Jr., Orren L. Turner and Jack W. Turner. Mr. Turner is the owner of Joel Turner Construction and The Junction located on Hartwell Highway.He was a member of the VFW, Elks Lodge, Shriners and the Masons.He served two years in the Armed Forces. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, November 11, 2010 at 2pm from the NorthsideBaptist Church with the Reverend David McConnell officiating.Visitation will be at Hicks Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 from 7pm to 9pm.
