John Haynie Harper

Mr. John Haynie Harper, Jr., 84, passed away May 16, 2014 at Spring Valley Private Care Home with his family at his side. Mr. Harper was born on July 24, 1929 in Bowman, Georgia to the late John Haynie and Allie Mae Booth Harper. Johnnie, Jr. as he was fondly known by his family and friends was self employed as a poultry farmer. He was married to Betty Beasley Harper for 62 years. In addition to his wife he is survived by his children; John Haynie Harper, III and his wife Kathy, Karen Leigh Davis and Brian Keith Harper. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. A service to celebrate Mr. Harper’s life was held on Sunday, May 18, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Hicks Funeral Home. A time of visitation was from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Hicks Funeral Home just prior to the service. Interment followed at Hillcrest Cemetery, Bowman. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to the church or charity of ones choice.
