John William Greeson

John William Greeson of Elberton, GA died at St Mary's Hospice House on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 following a long illness. He was 78.

John was born on May 10, 1944 in Athens, GA to his parents, Johnny L. and Helen T. Greeson. He married Joanna Greeson in 1969. The Greesons resided in Athens, GA until 1983, when they moved to Elberton, GA. John retired from Zoom Bait Company in 2021. John will always be remembered by his family as an avid outdoorsman and a loving husband, father, uncle, and "PaPa".

John is survived by his daughters Sarah Cooper of Athens, GA, Catherine (Eric) Glaser of Stockbridge, GA, and Audrey Greeson of Elberton, GA, and son Patrick Trammell of Valdosta, GA; grandsons Matt (Brooke) Cooper of Athens, GA, Robert (Monique) Cooper of Athens, GA, and Scott (Kristen) Cooper of Roswell, GA; 3 great-granddaughters, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50+ years, Joanna, parents Johnny L. Greeson and Helen T. Scarborough, and son-in-law Bob Cooper.

A private family memorial service is planned for a future date. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in John's name to St. Mary's Hospice House and the Georgia Wildlife Conservation Fund.
