Mr. Johnny Edward Rucker, 59, of Victory Rd., Elberton, GA passed away Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital.

He was born in Elberton, GA January 1, 1963 to Zachariah and Jezzie Rucker.

He joined Vance Creek Baptist Church at an early age. He was educated in the Elbert County School System.

“Ed” as he was affectionately known to his family and friends was employed in the granite industry. He also joined the Georgia National Guard where he retired after 23 years of service to his country. He worked as long as his health permitted him to.

His father and brother Moses Rucker preceded him in death.

He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Johnny Jr., Latange and Austin, six grandchildren; his mother: Jezzie Rucker; two sisters: Rose Hardman, Barbara (Stanley) Willis; three brothers: Zack (Brandon) Rucker, Charles (Alma) Rucker and Aubrey D. Rucker; five nephews, three nieces, several great nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

Graveside funeral services will be held 1PM, Friday, January 14, 2022 at Vance Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Berry Funeral Home & Crematory of Elberton is in charge of the funeral arrangements for Mr. Johnny Edward Rucker.
