Jones William Echols

Mr. Jones William Echols, 70, of Highway 172 West, Bowman, husband of 44 years to Bertha Lee Rice Echols, passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2016, at his residence.

Mr. Echols was born in Madison County on October 14, 1945, son of the late Austin Echols and Nellie Mae Human Echols. He was a graduate of Madison County High School and the owner/operator of Echols Auto Sales. Jones was a member of Mill Shoal Baptist Church and enjoyed racing, talking, and horse trading.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Bertha; daughter, Cassie Lynn Echols of Hartwell; step-sons: Sammy Powers of Dewy Rose and Tony Powers of Canon; and three grandchildren: Elizabeth Thi Powers, Jonathan Dale Powers, and Hanna Grace Echols.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother, Robert Echols.

Funeral services celebrating his life will be held on Thursday, September 15, at 4 o’clock in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Petty officiating. Cremation will follow the service.

The family is at the residence and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 2:30p.m. until the hour of service on Thursday.
