Joseph Robert Davis

Joseph "Joe" Robert Davis, 83, of 1804 Hartwell Hwy. widower of the late Irene Evans Davis died Wednesday February 24, 2010. Born in Wilkes County he was a son of the late Robert "Bob" Davis and Janie Lee Gunter Davis. He was a retired top polisher, and was of the Pentecostal Holiness Faith. Survivors include daughters Brenda Hill and Jean Hunt both of Elberton, GA, sisters Mattie Sue Segars and Lucy Segars both of Elberton, GA, a brother Walter Davis of Elberton, GA, six grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by sisters Carrie Grimes, Mammie Lou Cothran, Janie Johnson, and Leisa Bell Segars, brothers James Davis, George Davis, William Davis, Deal Davis, J.B. Davis, Clinton Davis , and David Davis. Funeral services will be held Saturday February 27, at 2PM at The Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Ginn officiating. Burial will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery. The family will be at the home of Jean Hunt 1697 Hartwell Hwy. and will receive friends from 7-9PM Friday night at Berry Funeral Home. Pallbearers will include Jim Dixon, Allen Turner, Mike Davis, Kevin Driver, Dan Segars, and Buddy Allen. Honorary pallbearers will include great-grandsons.
