Joyce Ann Higgins, 81, of Elberton, Georgia died Sunday, January 17, 2021. Born in Clymer, New York on November 21, 1939 she was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Edith Farnham of Brocton, New York. She graduated from Brocton Central School in 1957. After marrying her husband, Charles Higgins, they lived in several places in western New York and northwestern Pennsylvania before moving to Georgia.After moving to the Elbert County area in 1989, she worked at Elberton Manufacturing and Torrington before retiring from White Cap in Athens. Joyce enjoyed knitting, reading, music and board games. She was a member of Elberton Pentecostal Holiness Church. Survivors include her children: Roger (Venice) Higgins of Cranesville, Pennsylvania, Jeffrey (Becky) Higgins of Diamond, Missouri, Kevin (Melissa) Higgins of Brunswick, and Barbara (Douglas) Slay of Elberton; grandchildren: Stacey Higgins, Eric Higgins, Nathanael Higgins, Sarah Livengood, Hannah Higgins, Adam Higgins, Katie Higgins, Matthew Slay, and David Slay; and great-granddaughter, Cadence Higgins.She also leaves behind a sister, Dorothy Dibble of Fredonia, New York; brothers: Don Farnham of Lehigh Acres, Florida (formerly of North East, Pennsylvania) and John Farnham of Brocton, New York. In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Charles Higgins, and grandson, Neil Higgins. A private celebration of Joyce’s life will be held at a later date. Arrangements for Mrs. Joyce Higgins are in the care of Hicks Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Elberton.
