Joyce Mcdowell Dempsey

Mrs. Joyce McDowell Dempsey, 87, of West Hendricks St. Bowman, GA passed away Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Augusta University Hospital.

Mrs. Dempsey was born June 4, 1930 in Elberton, GA to Albert McDowell and Blanche Graham Dempsey. She was a member of Bowman Baptist Church and was retired from Johnson and Johnson.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law: David and Brenda Dempsey of Royston, GA, Steve and Amy Dempsey of Bowman, GA; daughters and sons-in-law: Rita and Lynn Kimble of South Williamsport, PA, Susan and Mark Crenshaw of Savannah, GA; grandchildren: Curt Dempsey, Stephanie Whiddon, Gary Bryant, Lori Kimble, Justin Kimble, Melissa Gillen-water, Kelly Davies; and twelve great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: James Walter Dempsey; grandson: Bradley Kimble and great-grandson: Brock Whiddon.

Private memorial services will be held later.

Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Bowman, GA.
