Joyce Patricia Ivester Fleming

Mrs. Joyce Patricia Ivester Fleming, 93, of Golf Course Road, Elberton, wife of the late Joe Edsel Fleming, passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at her residence surrounded by the love of her family.

Mrs. Fleming was born in Anderson, SC on September 11, 1928, daughter of the late Ernest Edward Ivester and Maude Evelyn Davis Ivester. She was a 1950 graduate of Anderson Memorial Hospital College of Nursing. Joyce was a member of the Elberton Country Club where she enjoyed playing golf and bridge. She was a devoted member of First United Methodist Church of Elberton and continued to support the church faithfully even after her health prevented her from attending.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy and Terry Blackmon of Myrtle Beach, SC and Tina and Vince Fernandez of Elberton; grandchildren: Alex Fernandez of Toccoa and Isabella and Colby Thomas of Columbia, SC; niece, Medina and Joe Wilkerson of Anderson, SC; and great-nephew, Ryan and Halei Feltman of Anderson, SC.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Ernestine McCoy; and nephew, Eddie McCoy.

Memorial services celebrating her life will be held on Wednesday, June 15, at 3 o’clock in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home. Burial will be private in Elmhurst Cemetery.

The family is at the residence and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 2:00-2:45p.m. prior to the service on Wednesday.
