Judith Camilla "Judy" Richardson Bridges

Mrs. Judith Camilla Richardson Bridges, affectionately known as Judy, 78, of Far-A-Way Road, Elberton, peacefully went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 30, 2025.

Judy was born in Anderson, SC, on September 17, 1946, to the late Bonds Blackstone Richardson and Virginia Thornton Richardson. She graduated from Hart County High School and went on to enjoy a fulfilling career, retiring from Hart Telephone Company after over 40 years. Judy was a dedicated member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Hartwell, GA, where she cherished the fellowship and friendships she made over the years.

Above all, Judy was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She spent 59 years with her high school sweetheart, J. Dan Bridges, and was a proud and caring mother to their sons, Clint Bridges and Daniel and Tonya Bridges. Judy’s heart overflowed with love for her six-grandchildren, Garrett and Paisley, Brooke, Jordan, Luke, Whitley, and Lorelei Bridges. Judy was also a sister to Walton and Gail Richardson, and was deeply loved by her extended family and community.

She will be remembered not only for her loving nature but also for her unwavering faith, her love for music, and the joy she brought to everyone she encountered.

The family will receive friends at Cornerstone Baptist Church on Tuesday, February 4, from1:00-1:45 p.m., with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. The service will be officiated by Rev. Terry Meeks and Dr. Brad Starnes. Judy will be laid to rest in the Bridges Family Cemetery, located on the family farm where she spent many years surrounded by those she loved.
