Kathleen "Kathy" Spivey Maxwell

Mrs. Kathleen “Kathy” Stanford Spivey Maxwell, 69, of Melody Lane, Elberton GA, passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at Celebration Village in Acworth, GA.

Kathy was born August 12, 1955, in Savannah, GA to Leo and Kathleen Spivey. She was a graduate of Savannah Country Day School. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics from Georgia Southern College, and later earned her Masters and six-year degrees in Education. Kathy worked with the Elbert County Extension Service before moving into teaching positions at both Elbert County Comprehensive High School and Elbert County Middle School before retiring.

Kathy was a member of the First Baptist Church of Elberton where she was an active participant in the church choir, adult ensemble, and served with her husband in youth programs at the church. Kathy was a talented pianist and vocalist. She also helped plan and direct many weddings in the Elberton area.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband (Don). She is survived by her daughter, Kelly Anthony (Michael) of Atlanta, GA; son, Grayson Cavaliere (Brian) of Nashville TN; sister, Jane Anderson of Savannah GA; brother, Jerry Spivey (Connie) of Elberton GA; two granddaughters, Charlotte and Savannah, who absolutely loved their “KK”; many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
