Katrina Lynn Scarborough Childs, of 1179 Allen Logan Road, Elberton, passed away at Athens Regional Medical Center on Saturday, September 15, 2012, one day after her 43rd birthday. Mrs. Childs was born in Elbert County, September 14, 1969, to Lona Darnell Bonds Summers and the late Marvin Herman Scarborough. She was a sandblast assistance in the granite industry and was a member of Falling Creek Baptist Church. Left to cherish her memories are her fiancé, Charlie A. Partain of the residence; children, Delane Childs, Johnathan Childs, and Sydney LeeAnn Childs, all of Elberton; mother, Lona Darnell Bonds Summers of Elberton; siblings and their spouses, Kim and Danny Reynolds, Gary Scarborough, Brian Scarborough, Julie and Brad Burton, all of Elberton, Laura and Josh Fowler of Hartwell, and Shandon Scarborough of Anderson; life-long best friend, Lisa Johnson of Elberton; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her husband, John Steven Childs; and step-father, Billy Summers. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 3PM Monday, September 17, in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Rev. Wes Privett officiating. Burial will follow in the Deep Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Jermaine Rucker, Paul Derrow, Allen Bonds, Buck Segars, Willie Bob Segars, Earl Bonds honored as pallbearers. The family is at the residence of Brad & Julie Burton, 2435 Cunningham Road, and will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8PM Sunday evening.
