Kenneth Elmer Perry, 71, of 4181 Liberty Hill Road, Hartwell, husband of Karen Gail Motes Perry, died Sunday, December 16, 2012, at the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson. Mr. Perry was born in Royston, December 12, 1941, to the late Elmer and Sadie Minish Perry. He was a loom fixer in the textile industry and a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church. Mr. Perry attended Cokesbury United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Bible Study Class. Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Karen Gail Motes Perry of the home; children, Ron Perry of Athens, Elaine P. Hall of Hartwell, and Jennifer P. Carnes of Hartwell; sister, Joan P. Pearson of Danielsville; step-children, Regan Richardson of Hartwell, David Richardson of Mayfield, KY, and Vicki Keen of Coleman, TX; eleven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two children, Crystal Perry and an infant son Jason Perry; and brother, Johnny Perry. Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 3PM Tuesday, December 18, in the Cokesbury United Methodist Church officiated by the Rev. Doug Brown. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Doug Hall, Greg Carnes, Dennis Muttitt, Regan Richardson, Levi Motes, Aaron Partain honored as pallbearers.. The family is at the residence and will receive friends at the Cokesbury United Methodist Church from 2-3PM prior to the service.
