Lalla Ann Bogman Clonts

On June 24th 2016, Lalla Ann “Lollipop” Bogman Clonts in her 68th year, was called home to be with the Lord. Mrs. Clonts of Hartwell, GA, formerly Lilburn, GA, courageously battled an exceptionally rare neurological disorder and it’s complications for over 11 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, George Wallace Bogman, her father and her mother Sue Dykes Bogman.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Mac Clonts, their daughter, Jennifer Niekro, her husband John Niekro and their two children, Chase Niekro, and Emma Niekro. Also surviving is their son Andy Clonts, his wife, Carrie Clonts and their two children, Aidan Clonts and Caroline Clonts. She sadly leaves behind many loving and very supportive members of her extended family.

Mrs. Clonts was a native of DeKalb County, GA, raised in the Methodist Church, graduated from Briarcliff High School where she was a member of numerous student organizations. She continued her education at Georgia State University. She dedicated her life to supporting her husband and raising their two wonderful children. Mrs. Clonts was always volunteering for duties at the children’s schools. She was a Girl Scout troop leader. (Ever have 400 cases of cookies in your garage?) She was the “team Mom” for more sports than she understood! She donated an enormous amount of her time supporting a charity that was dedicated to finding a cure for childhood cancer through research being done at Egleston Children’s Hospital. Her other hobbies were tennis, and pursuing as many warm personal “best friend” relationships as possible. She was very good at both. She was a “damn good Dawg.” She was there for “My God, He is just a freshman”, as was she there for “Run Lindsey Run,” as was she there for “Look at the sugar falling from the sky!”, and she stormed the floor of the Superdome! And that was just one year of 40.

As were her wishes, her remains were cremated. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. Those wishing to make memorial donations in Lalla’s memory may consider the following or one of their choosing.

2) The Thomas Gross Memorial Scholarship Fund. A charity in the memory of a fellow employee and friend of Mac and Lalla’s who died in a tragic car/train event while working.
