Larry Donald "Donnie" Kesler, Sr.

Mr. Larry Donald “Donnie” Kesler, Sr., 74, of Hartwell, formerly of Elberton, passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at his residence.

Donnie was born in Athens on January 4, 1948, son of the late Walter Thomas Kesler, Sr. and Biddie Cornelia Atkins Kesler. He was a firefighter having retired from the City of Elberton after 38 years of service. An avid outdoorsman, Donnie enjoyed fishing, hunting, and woodworking.

Survivors include his wife, Susan ‘Jean’ Bundrick Kesler of Elberton; two sons: Larry Donald Kesler, Jr. and his wife Jill of Elberton and Kenneth Arnold “Kenny” Kesler of Hartwell; grandchildren: Mason, McKenzi, Daniel, Nate, Sam, and Sophie; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings: Ailene Hewell, Walter Kesler, Jr., Ouida Stone.

Graveside services celebrating Donnie’s life will be held on Tuesday, May 10, at 4 o’clock at the Forest Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum.

The family will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home on Monday, May 9, from 5:00-7:00p.m.
