Mr. Larry Lamar Vaughn, 82, of Highway 172 East, Bowman, husband of Mildred Pierce Vaughn, passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at Comer Health & Rehabilitation Center.
Mr. Vaughn was born in Franklin County on November 19, 1940, son of the late Clois Lamar Vaughn and Thelma Leotis Bryant Vaughn. He was a graduate of Elbert County High School and retired from Monroe-Tenneco Automotive Company after 50 years of service. Larry was a member of Amazing Grace Baptist Church. He was an avid musician who was an excellent self-taught guitar and piano player.
Survivors, in addition to his wife of 61 1/2 years, include his sons: Stephen Vaughn of Alabama and Joseph “Joey” Vaughn and his wife Christy of Harrison; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Carol Allen.
The family is at the residence and will receive friends on Saturday, April 1, from 2:00-2:45p.m. at Berry Funeral Home. Funeral services celebrating Larry’s life will follow at 3:00p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Leon Pierce officiating. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
