Larry Oglesby

Lawrence Wilhite “Larry” Oglesby, 71, husband of Brenda Moore Oglesby for 41 years, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 8, 2013. Mr. Oglesby was born April 23, 1941 in Elberton, GA, to the late William Howard Oglesby and Georgia Wilhite Oglesby. He retired as the owner and operator of Oglesby Trucking Company. He was a member of Upstate Cruisers Car Club and enjoyed attending car shows. He enjoyed auto restoration and was very proud of his 1966 Plymouth convertible. Larry enjoyed golfing and NASCAR racing, and always pulled for the underdog. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a brother, Ken Oglesby and wife Ginger; two daughters and their husbands, Kerri and David McDannald, and Jamie and Matt Hazel; four grandchildren, Kelly and Mary Katherine McDannald, and Dalton and Reece Hazel; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Susan Oglesby; and a nephew, Brandon Moore. A Celebration of Larry’s Life will be 3 p.m. Sunday at his home, 16 Holly Circle in Greenville, officiated by Rev.
