Lavonia Gaines Todd

Born in Hart County she was a daughter of the late Hoyt and Alma Brown Gaines. She attended Holly Springs Baptist Church and was a retired seamstress from Elberton MFG. Survivors include her children Joyce and Horace Bailey, Billy and Rebecca Todd, Patsy and Stewart Moss, and Ricky and Rose Todd, sisters Sara Wansley, and Betty Mullinex, brother Clyde Hoyt Gaines, three half sisters, and two half brothers, 20 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Sam Boyd Todd, and a son Tommy Boyd Todd. Funeral services will be held Thursday December 31, at 11AM at Holly Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Fred Jones, Rev. Rob Spivey, and Rev. Luther Mahoney. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Bowman, GA. The body will be placed in the chuch to lie in state from 10-11AM. The family will be at the home of Patsy and Stewart Moss 3035 Pulliam Mill Rd. and will receive friends from 7-9PM Wednesday night at Berry Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be grandsons Mike Segars, Wesley Moss, Shannon Moss, Tim Gray, Tommy Cordell, Keith Moon, Todd Moon, Justin Gray, and Will Cordell.
