On February 7, 1927 the world was blessed with the birth of LC Blackwell Langston to the union of the late Mr. Sylvester Blackwell and the late Mrs. Leola Blackwell. At an early age, LC joined Holly Springs Baptist Church, where she was actively involved in the church and gave of herself unselfishly in any capacity. LC was a private sitter for the majority of her career. She took great pride in caring for others. Her caring nature and love for others will be deeply missed. LC was preceded in death by her husband Fred Langston; her daughters, Shirley Langston, Linda Alston, and Bobbie Allen; her sons, Stewart Langston and James Arthur Langston; her siblings, Azalee Shambry, Lois Dubose, Effie Blackwell, Susie Veazy, Malvenia Manuel, Eva Newkirke, Gladis Blackwell, Pricilla Blackwell, Elizabeth Clark, Nathaniel Blackwell, and Juanita Meyers Settles. LC will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She leaves to cherish her memories; her daughters, Betty (Larry) Crawford, Josephine Langston, Christine Langston, and Angela Langston; her son, Elbert “Toy” (Patricia) Langston; her sister, Mildred Hickman; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. A graveside service for Mrs. Langston was held on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Holly Springs Baptist Church in Bowman. Pastor Henry Butler was the officiant Arrangements for Mrs. LC Blackwell Langston were in the care of Hicks Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Elberton.
