Doris ‘Linda’ Edwards Moore, age 70, of Elberton, died on Wednesday, February 13, 2013, at Heardmont Nursing Home. Ms. Moore was a native of Elbert County, the daughter of the late William Odell and Doris Hulme Edwards and step-daughter of the late Wynee Dove Floyd Edwards. She retired as a clerk with the College Park Police Department after 25 years of service. Linda was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. Survivors include her sons, Chris Hoffer of Atlanta and Tracy Moore of McDonough; daughter-in-law, Angela Griffin of Atlanta; grandchildren, Dylan, Grayson, and Ashley; sister, Ann and Randall Moore of Elberton; and step-siblings, June and Dwight McClain, Ricky and Vicki Floyd, and Randy and Sandy Floyd, all of Hartwell; nephews, Robbie Moore of Sugar Hill, Chad Moore, Tanner Moore, and Colsen Moore, all of Elberton. She is preceded in death by one son, Stacy Moore. Funeral services were held on Saturday, February 16, in the Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Thrift officiating. Cremation followed the service and inurnment will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park. Memorials may be made in her honor to Antioch Baptist Church. The family would like to thank Courtney Blackmon, Donna Seymour, and the entire staff of Heardmont Nursing Home for the kindness that was shown to Linda during her stay there.
