Linda Louise Rogers Osborne, age 75, of Black Mountain, NC, passed away on Monday, January 9, 2023, at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC.
Linda was born on May 27, 1947, in Haywood County to the late Alvin L. Rogers and Eva Mae Cook. She was a 1965 graduate of Charles D. Owen High School. Linda worked as a nurse’s aide at the McCune Center and was manager of the Huddle House in Black Mountain.
Linda was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She had an enthusiastic and fun personality. Her family called her a “wildcat”! She enjoyed playing cards and going to antique stores. Her passion was picking clovers and making beautiful artwork with them. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her son, Frank Edgar Richards, Jr.; daughter, Wendi Richards; brother, Alan Rogers; grandson, Michael Richards; and two granddaughters: Cynthia and Misty Brown.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 32 years, Larry Osborne; four daughters, Dena (Marc) Rhodes of Elberton, GA, Missy (Jay) Freeman of Bat Cave, NC, Ruth Anne (Wayne Searles) Richards of Lincolnton, NC, and Bonnie (Lincoln McConnell) Phillips of Newton, NC; first husband and father of her children, Frank Richards, Sr. of Lincolnton, NC; two sisters: Patty (Donald) Davis and Becky (Tom) Arnold, both of Black Mountain, NC; 15 grandchildren: Rhett Brown, Avery Stratton, Michael Richards, Marlena Rhodes, Katie Phillips, Becca Shoemake, Ethan Phillips, Lexie Mae Freeman, Haylea Richards, Marissa Rhodes, Ashely Garrison, Grace Staley, Mason Wright, Dalton Nixon, and Allie Freeman; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, January 15, 2023, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Penland Family Funeral Home, 125 South Avenue, Swannanoa, NC, with Reverend James Lamb officiating.
