Mr. Lonnie Felton Deal, 93, of Nickville Road, Dewy Rose, husband of 48 years to Frances Segars Deal, passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2024. 

 

Mr. Deal was born in Crawford on October 24, 1930, son of the late Perry Lee Deal and Lillie Ellen Cantrell Deal. Lonnie served proudly in the United States Navy during the Korean era. He was a member of Deep Creek Baptist Church and a self-employed barber having worked in Comer and Dewy Rose for many years. Lonnie was an avid outdoorsman whose favorite past time was fishing. He enjoyed working outside, cutting grass, and burning brush. 

 

In addition to his wife Frances, he is survived by one son and two daughters. 

 

Graveside services celebrating Lonnie’s life will be held on Sunday, June 9, at 3:00p.m. at the Deep Creek Baptist Church cemetery with the Rev. Tim Adams and the Rev. Keith Smith officiating. The family will greet friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall. 

 

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the American Heart Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692 or to Elbert County Emergency Services, 112 Mahoney Drive, Elberton, GA 30635.
