Lori Janice Everett of Tignall, passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2025.
Lori was born in Ft. McPherson, GA on December 2, 1958, to her mother Mary Jean Hendricks Turner and the late Walter Jabez Gulledge III. Lori is also survived by her sister Melanie Boe and her late husband, Chris and her brother, Walter Gulledge IV. Lori graduated Stockbridge High School in 1976 and was awarded the State of Georgia Home Economics award that same year. She would later use her talent as a seamstress to make wedding dresses, baby quilts for families in need, and to hem and alter clothes for her entire family. Lori married the love of her life, Darrell Thomas Everett, on New Year’s Eve in 1987. Together they raised four children.
She is survived by Kellie Hannah and her husband Tye, Jason Worden and his wife Denisia, Daniel Everett and his wife April; and preceded in death by Darren “Debo” Everett. She was blessed with eleven grandchildren who called her Granny and two great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored. Lori recently retired from Gallagher Electric and had been spending the last of her years enjoying the lake life and their tight knit community in Tignall. She spent a lifetime outdoors, taking the kids camping, trips to the beach and boating on Clark Hill Lake, usually with a book in hand. She loved to travel and spend time with her family. Granny was the one who brought everyone together and made sure they all had socks at Christmas. She was the life of the party, always smiling, laughing and joking around. She had a sarcastic sense of humor and was quick to make you laugh. She loved deeply and took care of her family and friends. Lori was always there to help and to let you know how much she cared. Lori was a beautiful woman with a beautiful soul who leaves behind an extraordinary and unsurpassed legacy.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 19, at Bernstein Funeral Home in Athens, GA. Family and friends will gather from 1-2 p.m. prior to the 2 p.m. memorial service with a reception to follow.
