Lorraine S. Willis

Lorraine S. Willis, age 77, passed away Friday, July 8, 2022 while she was surrounded by her loving family. 

Lorraine was born in Savannah while her father was stationed there with the United States Army.  She was a member of New Bethel United Methodist Church where her family has attended for multiple generations.  

Never meeting a stranger, Lorraine was a social butterfly.  She was a gracious hostess and enjoyed helping her aunt Joyce Turner with catering at Rainbow Manor.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, William H. Stratton and Jimmie Ruth Turner Stratton.  

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Vernon Willis; two children, David Willis of Elberton and Sharon Willis Mills (Ryan) of Bowman; sister, Lynne Evans (Tommy) of Elberton; niece, Cindy Evans Agnew of Greenville, South Carolina; and great nieces, Aspen Agnew of Santa Monica, California and Claudia Agnew of Greenville.  The title she was most proud of was being “NeNa” to her granddaughter, Summer Milford (Jake) of Hartwell; and to her great grandchildren, Halstyn and Hampton.

A memorial celebration took place at 11:00 A.M. Monday, July 11, 2022 at New Bethel United Methodist Church, with Reverend Richard Jarvis officiating and Sandra Turner Gaines Huelett as a speaker.  Interment was private.
