Mrs. Lottie “Shorty” Norman, 97, of 1029 Sunset Drive in Elberton, passed away peacefully at her home Monday morning, July 11 with her family at her side. Mrs. Norman was born in Lincoln County to Frank and Leila Rogers Dallis.She was married to the late William Claude Norman.She retired after working many years at Elberton Mills. Mrs. Norman was a longtimemember of the Elberton First United Methodist Church,the Lena Childs Sunday School Class, and the United Methodist Women’s group.She loved spending time with her family, and thoroughly enjoyed cooking their favorite dishes for them.She looked forward each year tothe Dallis Family Reunion in Lincolnton, GA.Her memory will forever be treasured by her family and friends. Mrs. Norman is survived by her sons and their wives, Jack and Jane Norman of Elberton, Donald and Sarah Norman of Kennesaw, GA, and Ronald and Pam Norman of Dahlonega, GA. She is also survived by sisters Vivian Bryant of Jackson, SC, and Doris Adams of Elberton;brothers John Will Dallis of Tallahassee, FL, Sanders Dallis of Lincolnton, GA, and Tony Dallis of Leesville, SC.;7 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.In addition to her husband, Mrs. Norman was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Marion Dallis. A service to celebrate Mrs. Norman’s life will be Wednesday, July 13, at 2:00 p.m. at Elberton First United Methodist Church, with Rev. Wayne Smith and Rev. Wallace Wheelis officiating.Visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday evening, July 12, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Hicks Funeral Home.Interment will be at Forest Hills Memorial Park. Flowers are graciously accepted, or donations may be made to Elberton First United Methodist Church. The family is at Mrs. Norman’s residence at 1029 Sunset Drive in Elberton.The family expresses deep appreciation to the wonderful staff of Odyssey Healthcare of Athens, who lovingly cared for Mrs. Norman over these recent weeks.
