Loyd Daniel Garrett

Mr. Loyd Daniel Garrett, age 74 of Elberton, died December 15, 2008 following an extended illness.He was a Korean War Veteran and member of Fortsonia Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.He was preceded in death by his parents Charlie and Frances Garrett of Stephens County, and his brothers Charles Garrett and Leon Garrett. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Charlotte Madden Garrett; sons, Waco and Shelia Garrett of Elberton, Jeff and Angel Garrett of Elberton; daughter, Renae Garrett of Pembroke; grandchildren, Jessica Clark, Amanda Rousey, Justin, Jake, and Luke Garrett, Alison Norman, Alaina Payne; four great grandchildren McKenzie and Colton Clark, Brooklyn Rousey and Morgan Garrett; brothers Ralph Garrett of Toccoa, Bobby Garrett of Hallsville, Texas, Robert Garrett of Longview, Texas, Kenneth Garrett of Gladewater, Texas; sisters Jeanette Cook of Elmo, Texas, Edna Cook of Atlanta, Texas; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services will be held at Fortsonia Baptist Church, Thursday December 18, at 3:00 P.M., with the body lying in state at 2:00 P.M., Reverend Russell Moore officiating.Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Elberton.The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6-8-PM at the funeral home.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the building fund at Fortsonia Baptist Church.
