Luke Mitchell Waters

Luke Mitchell Waters, 23, of 1119 Longstreet Road, Elberton passed away on December 25, 2010. Luke was born and raised in Elbert County by his parents, Stephen and Tina Waters.He served his country in the Marine Corp.Mr. Waters was discharged from the U. S. Marine Corp. on August 10, 2010 after two combat tours in Iraq and one tour in Afghanistan.He was also on the USS Iwo Jima in the Mediterranean. Luke is survived by his parents, Stephen and Tina Waters, brother; Richard Waters of Elberton, and Stephanie Montgomery and future brother-in-law John Bobo of Elberton, grandparents; J. D. and Janelle Waters of Elberton, nieces; Mattison Waters, Chloe Waters, Camille Waters, Desiree Montgomery, Cassidy Montgomery, and Molly Bobo all of Elberton. Luke was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Jarvis Montgomery and his maternal grandparents Donald and Berttina Williams. A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at First Baptist Church with several family pastors officiating at 1:00 pm. Visitation will be held at the Hicks Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 29, 2010, from 7 to 9 pm. Interment will be at Elmhurst Cemetery.
