Lynda Charlotte Denney Phillips

Mrs. Lynda Charlotte Denney Phillips, 83, of JW Kelley Road, Dewy Rose, wife of the late Jimmy Frank Phillips, went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 25, 2024, at Comer Health & Rehab. 

Born in Elbert on October 27, 1941, Lynda was the oldest of two daughters of Raymond Eldridge Denney and Mary Elizabeth Cordell Denney. She worked as a seamstress, at Deep Creek Grocery, and at Wal-Mart in Elberton. Mrs. Phillips was a member of Deep Creek Baptist Church where she was active with AWANA and served as the church pianist and organist for many years. Lynda loved praising the Lord through her musical talents, having played for many church services, weddings, and funerals.

Surviving are her children: Donna McMullan (Tony) of Lilburn and David Phillips (Lisa) of Elberton; grandchildren: Melissa Tanner, Anthony McMullan (Emily), Maura Matti (Tim), and Ross Phillips (Kendall); great-grandchildren: Taylor Corley, Avery Blocker, Addison Blocker, Cannon McMullan, Elise Matti, Cormac McMullan and Leah Matti; and a host of other relatives and friends. 

Along with her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Karen Denney Brown. 

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 29, from 6:00-8:00p.m. at Berry Funeral Home. 

Funeral services celebrating Lynda's life will be conducted on Saturday, November 30, at 11:00a.m. at Deep Creek Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
