Lynn Gene Bumgarner

Mr. Lynn Gene Bumgarner, 67, of Watkinsville, husband of 25 years to Denise Booth Bumgarner, passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2021.

Lynn was born in Caldwell County, NC on September 28, 1954, son of the late Horace Gene Bumgarner and Nan Bolick Bumgarner. He obtained an associates degree from Haywood Community College in wildlife management and worked as a carpenter for over 40 years. Lynn was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing.

In addition to his wife, Denise, he is survived by his parents-in-law: Dianne and Joe Leard; and brother-in-law, Doug Booth.

Graveside services celebrating Lynn’s life will be held on Monday, October 18, at 2 o’clock at Hillcrest Cemetery, Bowman, with the Rev. Tim Adams officiating.

There will be no formal visitation; however, the family may be contacted at the residence of Dianne and Joe Leard, 389 N. Broad Street, Bowman.

Lynn will lie in state at Berry Funeral Home on Sunday, October 17, from 12:00-4:00p.m. for those wishing to pay their respects and sign the guestbook.

Flowers are accepted and contributions may be made to Friends Helping Friends, Inc., an organization that supports the special education students of Elbert County, at 1027 Micliff Drive, Elberton, GA 30635.
