Mrs. Maca Cooper Blackwell, 89, of Elberton, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at her home, surrounded by her son and daughter-in-law. Mrs. Blackwell was born in Walhalla, South Carolina, daughter of the late Robert and Rosa Smith Cooper.She was a homemaker as she raised her son, and then later worked for 16 years at Presto-Lite before retiring. She enjoyed gardening, and seeing the fruit of her labor.More than anything, she loved spending time with her family, and time with her grandson who was most precious to her.Mrs. Blackwell was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include her son, Randy Blackwell and his wife, Rhonda, of Elberton; and a grandson, Taylor Blackwell.She also leaves behind several siblings: Curtis “Bill” Cooper, J.T. Cooper, Estelle O’Kelly, and MayBell Pelfrey. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Blackwell was preceded in death by several siblings: Pauline Marton, Louise Collins, Ethel Blackwell, Cleo Thacka, Emma Eubanks, Harold Cooper, J.P. Cooper, Walter Cooper, Paul Cooper, and Garnet Cooper. Mrs. Blackwell’s wishes were to be cremated, and also requested that no services be held. Arrangements for Mrs. Maca Cooper Blackwell were in the care of Hicks Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Elberton.
