Mae Patterson Pless

Mrs. Lila ‘Mae’ Patterson Pless, 70, of Raymond Anderson Road, Elberton, wife of 51 years to Roy Lee Pless, entered into rest on Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Athens.

Mae was born in Sewanee, Tennessee on January 7, 1948, daughter of the late Herbert Haskell Patterson and Rena Naomi Thomas Patterson. She was a homemaker and a member of Elberton Church of God. “Nana”, as she was known to her family, was happiest when working in her yard and had a passion for helping others.

She leaves to cherish wonderful memories: her husband, Roy Lee; son, Terry Pless and wife Cindy of Elberton; daughter, Rena Lynn Bagwell and husband Marty of Elberton; brothers, Austin Patterson of Dewy Rose and Rennie Patterson of Tennessee; sisters, Linda Perry of Elberton and Patricia Griffith; grandchildren: Kyle and Jayce Bagwell, Landon Bagwell and girlfriend Emily McCurley, Cody Pless, and Carley and Reid Holland; great-grandchildren: Jackson Pless, Luke Pless, Jackson Black, Brodie Bagwell, and Drake Holland; and a host of other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings: Tommy Patterson, Cathy Finch, and Virginia Patterson.

Funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, August 4, at 2 o’clock in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Revs. Dwight Morgan, James Traffensted, and Leon Suttles officiating. Entombment will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery.

The family is at the residence and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00p.m. on Friday evening.
