Major Billy "Buster" Anderson

In Loving Memory of “Buster” “Andy” Anderson

February 24, 1931-May 10, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of "Buster" Anderson, 93 years young, a man of great courage, ambition, and entrepreneurial spirit.  Named Major Billy Anderson at birth, he was known as Buster to all his family and friends since his birth and childhood in Elberton, Georgia. Once he enlisted in the Air Force in 1952, he also became known as Andy. Buster served his country with honor and distinction from 1952 to 1972, retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant and leaving behind a legacy of selflessness and commitment.

Following his military service, Buster was a realtor, business owner of three different businesses, satellite specialist for Baker-Nunn, and lastly, from 1992 until the day he passed, Buster traded stocks, where he enjoyed his most success.

A loving husband to his late wife, Barbara, Buster was a devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is survived by his son, Billy, of Colorado Springs; his daughter, Marcia (Peter) of Honolulu, Hawaii; former daughter-in-law, Sandy; grandsons: Chris (Stephanie) and Ryan (Nikki); great-grandsons: Zane, Jett, Jace, and Kruise; great-granddaughters: Reese and Blakelee; sister, Polly of Tampa, FL; brother, Pete of Iva, SC; sister, Ann of Hartwell, GA and last but certainly not least, Molly, his beloved and precious fur baby. Buster raised his family with love, guidance, and encouragement, instilling in them the values of hard work and perseverance that would lead to their own successful careers. He was loved, respected, and admired by all who knew him.

A celebration of Buster’s remarkable life will take place at 2:00p.m. on Tuesday the 28th of May at Alternative Cremations, 2377 N Academy Boulevard, Colorado Springs, CO. Graveside services with military honors will take place at 11:00a.m. on Friday the 31st of May in Coldwater Methodist Church Cemetery, 1753 Coldwater Road, Elberton, GA.

In honor of Buster’s memory, the family kindly requests, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to a charity of your choice, as charitable giving was a cause close to his heart. Though he may be physically absent, his spirit and memories will forever remain in the hearts of all those who loved him and all those whose lives he touched.
