Margaret Ernestine Sherlin Campbell Goss

Margaret Ernestine Sherlin Campbell Goss, 84, of Elberton, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 18, 2010, at Athens Regional Medical Center. Born in Asheville, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Marjorie Sherlin. Margaret was married to the late Rev. John T. Campbell from 1948 until 1978. She loved being a pastor's wife and was a faithful prayer warrior. Margaret married Charles J. Goss in 1994. She and Charlie spent many enjoyable hours visiting with friends and relatives. They especially enjoyed reading the Bible. Her favorite Bible verses were John 3:16 and Proverbs 3:5-7 (KJV). Survivors include her husband, Charlie Goss; son and daughter-in-law, John & Kaye Campbell; daughter and son-in-law, Beth & Lane Williams; and granddaughter, Roxie and her husband Ben Downs. She is also survived by her extended children, Tim & Kim Goss, Kim & Greg Scoggins, Jim & Clarice Thompson, and Linda & Tom Root; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four brothers; and five sisters. Funeral Services celebrating her life will be held at 3PM Monday, December 20, 2010, at the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with Reverend Ray Finger officiating. Burial will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-3PM just prior to the service at Berry Funeral Home.
