She was previously employed by Elberton Mills but was a homemaker for most of her life. She was an active member of Falling Creek Baptist Church as long as her health permitted, and operated an in-home daycare for many years.
Survivors include her children: Alice and Allan Lockerman of Cleveland, TN, Wayne and Jackie Brown of Watkinsville, Danny and Beth Brown of Calhoun Falls, SC, and Connie Dixon of Elberton; siblings: Brenda and Gene McMullan of Dewy Rose, and Lamar and Margaret Yeargin of Athens; sister-in-law, Annette Yeargin of Elberton; grandchildren: Rob and Kelli Lockerman, Jeff Lockerman, Jennifer and Brian Preston, Casey and Shannon Dixon, Carrie and Brian Smith, Haleigh and Rusti Brock, Megan Brown, Daniel Brown, and Douglas Brown; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her son-in-law, Danny Dixon; brother, Ronald Yeargin; and sister, Wadene and W.H. Calhoun.
The family will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00p.m. on Thursday, April 1.
Funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Friday, April 2, at 11 o’clock in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Rev. Allan Lockerman, Rev. Casey Dixon, and Douglas Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park; however, there will be no graveside service at Mrs. Margaret’s request.
