Margaret Joanne Brown

Margaret Joanne Walters Brown, 78, of 107 Lake Forest Circle, Elberton, wife of V. Eugene Brown, died Friday, October 29, 2010, at her residence. Born in Elbert County, March 31, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Margaret Ray Walters. Mrs. Brown was a graduate of Elbert County High School, was retired from Lee Insurance Agency, and was a member of the Elberton First United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Eugene Brown of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Fred Easom of Elberton; sister, Carolyn Keener of Gloucester, Virginia; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Mrs. Brown is preceded in death by her son, Mitchell Brown. Graveside funeral services will be held Sunday, October 31, 2010, at 2PM in Forest Hills Memorial Park with the Reverend Wayne Smith officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-1:45PM Sunday just prior to the service at Berry Funeral Home and the family will be at the home, 107 Lake Forest Circle in Elberton. Pallbearers will include Matt Easom, Fred Easom, Jay Brown, Martin Brown, Katie Brown, and Louis Campos. Flowers are optional, and memorials may be made in her honor to the Elberton First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 398 Elberton, Georgia 30635.
