Margie Ford Brown

Ms. Margie Ford Brown, 79, of Elberton, passed away on Monday, November 19, 2018, at her son’s residence.

Ms. Brown was born in Columbia, SC, on April 2, 1939, daughter of the late Horace Edward Ford and Odessa Koon Ford. She was a quality control inspector having retired from ConAgra (presently Pilgrims Pride) and the former owner/operator of Tan Terrific Tanning Salon. Her greatest pleasure in life was taking care of her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her children: Norma Jean Brown, James Brown, Jr., Richard and Diane Brown, Michael Brown, Stephen Brown, and John and Michelle Brown; siblings: Norman Ford, Jeanette McDowell, Sandra Richardson, and Jim Ray Ford; 19 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Debra Ann Brown.

Funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, November 24, at 3 o’clock in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, December 1, at 11 o’clock in the Northeast Wesleyan Church Cemetery, 192 Sloan Road, Columbia, SC 29223.

The family is at the residence of Richard and Diane Brown on Press Mann Road in Elberton and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 1:00-2:45p.m. on Saturday afternoon.
