Marion Amanda Wansley Nicholson

Marion Amanda Nicholson, age 91, of Lawrenceville, Georgia, peacefully entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at Delmar Gardens.

Graveside services for Marion will be held on Sunday, January 22, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Elberton with full Veteran Honors as a Air Force Nurse 2nd Lieutenant

Marion was born April 25, 1931, in Elberton, GA, to the late Walter Wansley and the late Reba Rice Wansley; and is also preceded in death by her son, Walter “Steve” St. John; sister, Melba Lietch and brother, Gearld Wansley.

Marion was a devout Christian and a faithful member at Norcross First United Methodist Church. She retired after 34 years as a Nurse from the VA Hospital in Decatur, Georgia. She then continued working part time for seven years at Delmar Gardens.

She is survived by her children, Vernon St. John and wife Annie, and Robert Stacey St. John; beloved grandchildren, Ben St. John, Leigh Mehas and husband Slade, Eliot St. John and wife Alix, Madeline St. John, Sam St. John, Adam Bounnakhom and wife Amy, Johnathan Bounnakhom and wife Lynn, Robert Bounnakhom; cherished great-grandchildren, Cameron Mehas, Reagan Mehas, Ariel Bounnakhom, Alice Bounnakhom, Luna Bounnakhom, and Bash Bounnakhom; sisters, Helen Thomason and Brenda Rayle; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
