Marjorie England Barton

Mrs. Marjorie E. Barton, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and mother-in-law, passed away October 18, 2009.Mrs. Barton was born in Oglethorpe County to the late Raymond England and Julie Bray England. She was a member of Elberton First Baptist Church for over 20 years, and has been a resident at Spring Valley Nursing Home for the last 4 years.She was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Roscoe Barton, and a daughter, Martha Barton Rooke of Charleston, SC. She is survived by her son, Bill (wife, Diana) Barton of Marietta, four grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Thursday, October 22, 2009, at 1:30 PM at Evergreen Cemetery, Athens, with Rev. Ken Whitfield officiating.The family will receive friends Thursday 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the funeral home prior to the service.The family is accepting flowers, however, donations may be made to Elberton First Baptist Church 132 Heard St. Elberton, GA 30635.
