Marshall W. Sanders

Mr. Marshall Webster Sanders, 86, of Elberton, Georgia passed away Saturday, March 15 at St. Mary’s hospital, Athens, Ga. Mr. Sanders was born in Hart County, GA to the late Leonard Garland Sanders and Essie Elizabeth Fleming of Elberton, and was a life long member of Concord United Methodist Church, and active leader, as well as Sunday school teacher for 50 years at Northside Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 54 years, Jimmie Ray Rhodes Sanders. He is survived by his daughter Elizabeth Ann (Frank) Dantism of Concord, NC; son David Mark (Trish) Sanders of Birmingham, AL; grandchildren, Suzanne D. Doad, Christopher Dantism, Matthew Dantism, Mary Sanders, Emily Marshall Sanders A service to celebrate Mr. Sanders’ life was held Monday, March 17, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Northside Baptist Church, Elberton, with Rev. David McConnell and Rev. Sonny Peevy officiating. Visitation was from 2:00-3:00 p.m. just prior to the service. Interment followed at Concord United Methodist Church.
