Mrs. Martha Louise Taylor Bell, 89, of Elberton, passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at her home.A native of High Point, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Cletus Eugene and Annie Lou Fricks Taylor. She was a retired legal secretary having worked for Judge Stapleton, and had also served as the church secretary for the First United Methodist Church, where she was a member.She and her husband were alsomembers of the Manning Co-ed Sunday School Class.In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bell was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Prather. Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Francis Jackson Bell, of Elberton; son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Lisa Bell of Elberton; daughters: Margaret Brady and Randall Haynes, of Elberton, and Marya and her husband, Randall Wansley, of Buford; grandchildren: Matt and Brooke Thomas, John Michael and Claire Crowe, Lori and Jeffery Starrett, and Drew and Jessica Brady; great grandchildren: Taylor and Finley Thomas, Brady and Bailee Starrett, Skyler Collins, and Tatum Brady; and one sister, Patsy Hewell. A service to celebrate Mrs. Bell’s life was held on Tuesday, February 14th at 3:45 p.m. in The Chapel of Hicks Funeral Home, with Rev. Bill Vaughn officiating.The family received friends at the funeral home from 2:00 until 3:30 on Tuesday prior to the service.Interment followed in Elmhurst Cemetery withJeffrey Starrett, Brady Starrett, Drew Brady, Matt Thomas, Mike Webb, Ken Taylor, Daniel Graves, and John Michael Crowe serving as pallbearers.
