Mrs. Martha King Eaves, 88, of Magnolia Estates, Elberton, Georgia passed away Thursday morning, June 6, 2013 at Elbert Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Eaves was born in Athens, Georgia, daughter of the late Hillyer Clark King, Sr. and Mamie Louise Kytle King.She was married for over 52 years to the late Charles Parker “Beefy” Eaves.She graduated from The University of Georgia with a degree in Home Economics,and spent her life working tirelessly alongside “Beefy” as he directed the Recreation Department for Elbert County and later founded and directed the activities of Camp Harmony in Elbert County. Mrs. Eaves is survived by two sons:Charles Parker Eaves, Jr. and his wife, Connie, and Frank H. Eaves and his wife, Pam;and one daughter, Peggy Louise Eaves.She also leaves behind six grandchildren: Jennifer E. Whitmire (Chad), Ashley E. House, Woodrow C. Eaves, Brandon Eaves, Brent Eaves, and Blake Eaves;and four great-grandchildren: Annaleigh, Madelyn, and Brenna Whitmire, and Kason House. In addition to her husband,Mrs. Eaves was preceded in death by a beloved daughter, Martha Linda Eaves. A memorial service to celebrate Mrs. Eaves’ life was held on Friday, June 7, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Rock Branch Baptist Church with Rev. Ken Wright officiating.A time of visitation was held immediately following the service in the Family Life Center.
