Martha "Libby" Gunter

Mrs. Martha “Libby” Gunter, 82, of Elberton, passed away Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Nancy Hart Healthcare. Libby was born in Madison County on December 8, 1932 to the late O.A. and Edna King Cannon. She was married to the late William Sanders Gunter, Jr. for 62 years. She was of the Methodist faith. Libby is survived by her son and his wife: Glenn and Lisa Gunter of Elberton; grandchildren: Abby Temple and her husband Lucas of Comer,and Anna Gunter of Elberton. She is also survived by a great-grandchild, Lily Elizabeth Temple of Comer, and a sister, Ida Mae Holloman of Carlton. Funeral services for Mrs. Gunter were held on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in The Chapel of Hicks Funeral Home.Interment followed at Carlton Cemetery.
